At the October Annual meeting, the GLCC Board of Directors revised its definition of "membership" in the club. Formerly, only one person was included in a membership. Now a membership is defined as "an individual or two persons in a family or domestic relationship." In discussions of the matter, the predominant thinking was that the change brings Club membership classification in line with 21st-century practices. For those couples who want individual memberships, the current "spousal" category of membership will be retained.

Under blue skies and perfect boating conditions, the Lake Huron Rally and official opening of the new headquarters for the GLCC was the place to be in mid August.

The Lake Superior 21st Anniversary Rally was held Friday, August 15, through Sunday, August 17, at Silver Bay Marina, Minnesota. It marked a return of the event to this popular venue, which also was the site of the 2004 Rally.
Rear Commodore Duane Flynn organized the event.
