At the 2010 GLCC Lake Superior Dinner, Fleet Surgeon Gail Bowdish was announced as the winner of the Golden Wrench Award. This honor is given annually in recognition of members, who have demonstrate remarkable ingenuity, safety, and proper seamanship in dealing with unusual events.

We regret to inform you that long-time GLCC member Allan Penniston has passed away. His wife, Colleen, and their son and daughter were with him at the end. It was his wish that no funeral service be held, but a memorial service and celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.
