Thursday in the GLCCSchool – Navigating Locks

Sometimes locks in the Great Lakes are like doors that open to whole new cruising grounds. If you want to explore Lake Superior you must pass through the lock at Sault St Marie. If you want to explore Lake Ontario you must pass through the Welland Canal’s eight locks and a 362 foot drop. Additionally, sometimes locks in the Great Lakes are whole cruising adventure unto themselves. Just ask someone who has passed through the Erie Canal, the Rideau Canal or the wonderful Trent Severn Waterway if that is not true.

Join Bill Rohde on Tuesday December 5th as he unlocks the secrets of a safe and enjoyable lock passage in this GLCCSchool webinar Navigating Locks.

The GLCCSchool is happy to present to you this excellent webinar by veteran cruiser Bill Rohde. Bill’s experience in distance cruising began over 40 years ago on Lake Superior and eventually extended to several 1,500-mile offshore ocean passages. Bill and his wife Judy have spent a lifetime exploring our beautiful waters on two versions of their beloved cruiser Jubilee. Join Bill as he shares his knowledge and experience.
