Lake Michigan
PermalinkWelcome to the GLCC. Lots of experienced boaters here, not to mention your access to the GLCC Harbor Reports. Should you have any specific questions -- just ask, I'm sure you'll get a good response here. There are some very experienced Lake Michigan boaters in the GLCC.

PermalinkGreetings fellow Great Lakes Cruisers!
My wife Katie and I, Tyler, have sailed our Ericson 38-200 on Lake Michigan for 4 years now. Kaite grew up sailing small boats. I'd never set foot on a sailboat until she brought me to Wisconsin from Utah (via Sweden). Our wedding present to ourselves was an O'Day Daysailer. After some ASA courses and Great Lakes charters things escalated quickly. We've extensively refit "driftless" over the past 4 years, and cruised when we could. To date our longest excursion on our boat is 2 weeks out of MKE up the MI shore and back through Green Bay. We did get to crew for 18 days delivering a different boat last fall, from Newfoundland to Maine. We're moving this summer from Madison to Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin. We're lucky to also have the time to move our boat from her current home in Milwaukee up to Bayfield. I'll start a separate thread for that journey.
I wanted to introduce ourselves and say that we're happy to be here and look forward to all of the learning and advice that we'll get from you all. We hope we'll see you "out there"!
