Welland Canal

I'd be interested to hear from members who have transited the Welland this year.  Particularly how the new procedures for transiting pleasure craft have impacted your trip.

Sadly, with our joint border closed, the Welland Canal is off limits to US vessels other than for commercial deliveries. It's unfortunate that the border decision can't be made at the state and province level. In the case of Lake Ontario, the bordering regions (ON and NY) have very good results in managing the virus. In the case of NY, we are miles ahead of the rest of the US and completely turned around from the high numbers back in March and April, mostly in NY City.

Anyway, fair winds, and watch out for colliding Lakers in the canal.
