Rendezvous, rallies are coming up quickly
Safety on the water is something we all work to achieve, but even when you think you might be prepared, the unexpected can happen. Please read the article in this issue by Port Captain Ken Vannorsdall regarding his scary story about falling off his dinghy. Thankfully, he was wearing a life jacket.
As I write this note, the 2024 Rendezvous is about to start. We have nearly 100 members attending on over 40 boats. The Rendezvous chairmen — Lori Sprague, Port Captain Marilyn Kinsey and Port Captain Craig Shantz – have planned a wonderful agenda for us all to enjoy. From sailing model RC boats to late-night cemetery tours to a corn hole tournament to dinners and receptions — a good time will be had by all attendees.
And if you can’t make it to the Rendezvous, check out the event calendar on our webpage to find a rally in your neighborhood.
Looking ahead, the GLCC will have its 2024 General Membership meeting the weekend of Oct. 18–20 in Frankenmuth, Mich. The chair for this event is Director Christine Moore Skrocki. A new commodore will be elected at this meeting. Christine also has some activities planned on Saturday afternoon for your enjoyment. Again, check out the event calendar for more information
Be safe on our wonderful Great Lakes.
