Passing of "Bernie" the voice of Wiarton Coast Guard Radio

To the many GLCC boaters and others who travelled over the years within the voice of WIARTON COAST GUARD RADIO, it is with sadness that we must share the news of the passing of Bernard Dempsey, fondly known to many as "Bernie". Bernie passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in Owen Sound, Ontario on Saturday March 26, 2011. Bernie’s clear, accented voice was heard by many GLCC members over the years of service with Canadian Coast Guard.
