Lake Erie Regional Dinner set for Sept. 8

The fall Lake Erie Regional Dinner has been a Region 53 tradition for many years. It’s a chance for our cruisers to get together and enjoy some memories and camaraderie. In 2024 it will be a fitting end to a more relaxed cruising season on Lake Erie. 

This year’s list of activities included the Lake Erie Picnic and The Lake Erie Rally with that great Psychedelic 60’s theme, Come and meet the Region 53 team who contributed time and energy to making this a memorable year. 

The 2024 event will be Sunday, Sept. 8, starting at 1500. It will again be at the Cleveland Yachting Club, 200 Yacht Club Drive, Rocky River, Ohio, 44116, USA. https://www.cycrr.org/

Rear Commodore Jim Ehrman and Port Captain Ed Mahoney have assembled an agenda that includes a cocktail hour with cash bar (US dollars only), dinner and dessert. The menu is a land and sea buffet featuring salmon, chicken and beef.

Port Captain Ed Mahoney will host this year’s dinner at The cost for this year’s event is the same as 2022, $59 US per person. As always it will be, inclusive of all taxes, gratuity, and credit card processing fees. Cancellation cutoff date is Aug. 15. No refunds after that date.

This year’s event will again be at CYC’s Center Isle complex. There is an outdoor space

available for roaming with the freedom to walk the docks.

We are working with the CYC Harbormaster to place a priority on dockage requests from GLCC members. The current dockage rate is $2.90 US per foot. Details can be found in the Harbor Report E-11 Rocky River. E-11 Rocky River, the Great Lakes Cruising Club (glcclub.com).

CYC dress code is casual in this area. Collared shirts and nice shorts are welcome.

There are a number of hotels in the area, including a Town Place Suites, and a Red Roof

Inn. A search for hotels near Rocky River, Ohio, will yield others.
