Fred Richardson

Frederick Thomas Richardson of Wiarton, Ont., passed away May 16, 2024, at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound. He was 86. He married for nearly 55 years to the late Loreena (Burnham).

Fred and Loreena were members for many years of the Great Lakes Cruising Club (1990-2014). Fred was Port Captain of Sauble River, Ont. (H-10) from 1992 until 2014. Fred and Loreena were awarded the Admiral Bayfield Award in 1995.

Many members will remember Fred playing his organ and singing songs on his trawler, Melody.

They were also long-standing members of Royal Canadian Legion, Wiarton, Ont.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering was held in Wiarton on May 28. Interment was in Oxenden Cemetery.
