Apps & Passes needed for Trip to Thousand Islands

Hi all,

I apologize if this is redundant to other similar posts, but there never seems to be a consensus of what Apps are required or should be used.

My wife, Nancy and I are planning to cruise to the Thousand Islands and back this coming summer, 2025.  We will be travelling from Muskegon, MI up through the Straits Of Mackinaw, North Channel, Georgian Bay and traverse the Trent Severn Waterway.  We will return the same way only spending much more time exploring.  We have taken most/all of the classes concerning the North Channel, Georgian Bay and the TSW.  We have done the Erie Canal and Welland Canal as well as the Canadian Lock in the Soo, so locking up/down is not a problem.

I know that I will have to buy a CBP 'sticker', a TSW pass, a TSW Mooring pass.

Are there any other passes, requirements that I will need?

What about in the Thousand Islands?  We will be taking a ferry/excursion boat to get more information on the Islands and history and plan on visiting Boldt Castle and Singer.

What Apps for my phone/tablet should I install to check in/out of the U.S. and Canada.

Thanks

Len Buchanan

Hi Len,

The best resources on the Thousand Islands are Eric and Cynthia Sunstrum.  Eric is presenting a webinar on Eastern Lake Ontario, The Bay or Quinte and the Thousand Islands this Wednesday January 8.  https://www.glccschool.com/product/cruising-guide-lake-ontarios-bay-quinte-and-thousand-islands

Webinars are free for members and it's a good session.  If you can't make it Wednesday night, register anyway and you'll get a link to the recording.  The discount code to get the free webinar is half way down this page: https://www.glcclub.com/welcome-to-the-glccschool

Eric and Cynthia are very knowledgable about the Thousand Islands area.  They live near Ottawa and keep their boat at the Trident Yacht Club near Gananoque in the heart of the Thousand Islands.  I know they spend most of their summers exploring this cool area of the Great Lakes.  They love sharing their knowledge about this area and I know they would be happy to chat with you.
