The 2024 Lake Ontario Rally will be in the beautiful 1000 Islands region on Friday, Aug. 16 to Sunday, Aug. 18. The gathering location is the Clayton Harbor Municipal Marina near downtown Clayton, N.Y. (SLR-51), next to the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. There is no registration fee for this informal event, but you will be required to make a one-night deposit to reserve a slip at the marina. Overnight dockage rates are $2.20 USD per foot of boat length overall. This includes the use of washrooms, showers, water and WiFi. Reservations can be made by using Dockwa.com (form on marina website), by calling 315-686-6010 or by emailing docks@townofclayton.com. Dock slips will be confirmed via returned email.
We encourage you to reserve your slip as soon as possible. When doing so, please mention you are with the Great Lakes Cruising Club; they will try and put our boats together.
Members arriving from Canada are required to check in to US Customs using the CBP ROAM app which is available for download for both Apple and Android devices. Please ensure that you are familiar with all customs procedures for entering the US and returning to Canada.
Schedule of Events – Listed for your information is the proposed itinerary for the weekend. Please register for the event and indicate your interest in the various activities using the link at the bottom of the page so we can adjust the schedule accordingly.
Friday, Aug. 16
All Day - Arrival and Check In (see note above regarding slip reservations and US Customs clearance procedures)
16:30- Meet and Greet Happy Hour on the dock (BYOB and Appetizer to share)
18:00 – Optional Group Dinner (Location TBD)
Saturday, Aug. 17
Morning – Explore Clayton on your own
12:00 – Lunch at Wood Boat Brewery (Across from the Antique Boat Museum)
14:00 – Group Tour Antique Boat Museum and La Duchesse (option to add River Cruise in antique speedboat $$)
16:00 – Gadget Hour at the Marina
18:00 – Group Dinner at OBrien’s Restaurant and Bar
Sunday, Aug. 18
For those wishing to linger on Sunday, there is an option to arrange a tour of the Thousand Islands area that includes a 75-minute stop at the wonderful Boldt Castle. Please use the attached form to indicate if you would be interested in joining us.
