Lake Erie's Middle Bass Marina Closed for 2008

The marina is planned to be closed from October 1, 2007 until the 2009 season.
This winter, we expect to see the entrance closed and some preliminary work done in the area just north of St. Hazards. This will include some land clearing for the creating of the vernal pool. It will also include some preliminary work related to the clearing of some brush to establish a snake barrier (fence, for the federally protected Lake Erie Water Snake) around the marina construction area.
The marina basin is scheduled to be reopened for the boating season of 2009.
